Civil society is a fertile social order based on moral principles to ensure a balance between individual freedom and social stability.

Civil society is characterized by an emphasis on spaces where individuals and groups of people interact in a spirit of tolerance in a region of the country. Civil society participates in the public policy-making process.

Historical Differences
Historically, the concepts of civil society and civil society have no relationship at all.

Civil society stems from the struggle of the Prophet Muhammad SAW to face the condition of ignorance of divine guidance (jahiliyyah) of the Quraysh Arab community in Mecca. Differences in the Concept of Civil Society and Civil Society
Civil society has the concept of mutual cooperation which emphasizes human values. Meanwhile, civil society seems to only accept orders from the authorities and are less active in building with the government.

Civil society is more based on the procedures for social life with a religious foundation in Islam. Meanwhile, civil society is based on the spirit of equality in a democratic order.

Civil society is the fruit of modernity. Civil society is seen as a secular social movement that marginalizes God. Meanwhile, civil society was born from the care and guidance of God. So that civil society is seen as an open and tolerant society that comes from God.

Differences in Cultural Systems
Civil society refers to the Arab-Islamic tradition, while civil society refers to the non-Islamic western tradition. This creates a difference in meaning when associated with the context in which the two terms appear.

The word madani comes from the Arabic language which is related to the word "madinah". Civil society is interpreted as urban or urban society. The term city does not merely refer to geographical location, but refers to certain characteristics or traits suitable for the inhabitants of a city, namely civilized nature.

The term civilized in Arabic is 'tammaddun' which also means high culture.

Civil society is the equivalent word in English which means civil society. Civil society is defined as a society that has civilization or civilization.

Judging from its cultural system, civil society is a society in a country that is governed by religion. Meanwhile, civil society refers to components outside the state.


Masyarakat sipil adalah tatanan sosial yang subur berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip moral untuk menjamin keseimbangan antara kebebasan individu dan stabilitas sosial.

Masyarakat sipil ditandai dengan penekanan pada ruang-ruang tempat individu dan kelompok masyarakat berinteraksi dalam semangat toleransi di suatu wilayah negara. Masyarakat sipil berpartisipasi dalam proses pembuatan kebijakan publik.

Perbedaan Sejarah
Secara historis, konsep masyarakat sipil dan masyarakat sipil tidak memiliki hubungan sama sekali.

Civil society bermula dari perjuangan Nabi Muhammad SAW menghadapi kondisi jahiliyah terhadap masyarakat Arab Quraisy di Mekkah. Nabi Muhammad memperjuangkan kedaulatan agar semua kelompok masyarakat di Kota Madinah terjamin haknya dalam menjalankan syariat agama.

Sedangkan masyarakat madani muncul atas dasar keinginan rakyat untuk membebaskan diri dari kesewenang-wenangan raja atau penguasa. Kemunculannya dimulai pada masa revolusi Perancis pada abad ke-18.

Konsep masyarakat madani ditandai dengan tumbuhnya kebebasan individu, kemandirian dan kemandirian dalam kehidupan ekonomi dan sosialnya.

Perbedaan Konsep Civil Society dan Civil Society

Masyarakat sipil adalah buah dari modernitas. Masyarakat sipil dipandang sebagai gerakan sosial sekuler yang meminggirkan Tuhan. Sementara itu, masyarakat madani lahir dari pemeliharaan dan tuntunan Tuhan. Sehingga masyarakat madani dipandang sebagai masyarakat yang terbuka dan toleran yang bersumber dari Tuhan.

Perbedaan Sistem Budaya
Civil society mengacu pada tradisi Arab-Islam, sedangkan civil society mengacu pada tradisi barat non-Islam. Hal ini menimbulkan perbedaan makna bila dikaitkan dengan konteks di mana kedua istilah tersebut muncul.

Kata madani berasal dari bahasa arab yang berhubungan dengan kata madinah. Civil society diartikan sebagai masyarakat perkotaan atau urban. Istilah kota tidak semata-mata mengacu pada letak geografis, tetapi merujuk pada ciri atau sifat tertentu yang cocok bagi penduduk suatu kota, yaitu sifat beradab.

Istilah beradab dalam bahasa Arab adalah 'tammaddun' yang juga berarti budaya yang tinggi.

Civil society merupakan padanan kata dalam bahasa Inggris yang berarti masyarakat sipil. Masyarakat madani diartikan sebagai masyarakat yang memiliki peradaban atau peradaban.

Dilihat dari sistem budayanya, masyarakat madani adalah masyarakat di negara yang diatur oleh agama. Sedangkan masyarakat sipil mengacu pada komponen di luar negara.
